~ ANNOUNCEMENTS ~
MAILBOXES: Pick up your St. Peter Press today!
CHICKEN BBQ: TODAY, the Morse Bluff American Legion will be hosting their 71st Annual Chicken BBQ from 11:30-2 with drive thru or outdoor seating available. Stop by and say hi to a few members who will be there working!
PRESCHOOL: Little Lamb Preschool has a new Bible curriculum which includes family materials that are sent home every week. They correspond with the lesson being taught at preschool. Each child's packet costs $15 and we are asking for support from St. Peter members to help cover those costs. Would you consider sponsoring a child's packet for the year? There is a sign up sheet and example packet on the table in the fellowship hall. Donations can be cash or check (made out to Little Lamb Preschool) and can be given to Martha Short or Pastor. Thank you!
SISTERS IN FAITH: At the meeting 8/4, the group packed 100 Christmas gift boxes for Orphan Grain Train. 30 for girls 2-7, 28 for girls 8-12, 31 for boys 2-7 and 11 for boys 8-12. They will be delivered to the Norfolk warehouse on Monday. Thank you for the many people who help support this mission by picking up items through the year. We typically only do 50 boxes, but with the additional items on hand, we were able to double it this year! An updated inventory list will be out soon, but we could always use 24 packs of crayons which are typically on sale this time of year.
ICE CREAM: There are four full gallons of ice cream in the kitchen freezer that are left over from the food stand and Sundae Sunday. Anyone is welcome to grab some in return for a donation to the preschool.
YOUTH GROUP LEADER: We are in need of leadership for our high school youth group for the next school year and beyond. If this is something you would be interested in, please speak to Pastor Short or Heidi Widick. They meet on Wednesdays 6:15-7:15pm.
There will be a short meeting following the service next Sunday to discuss what the next school year looks like and receive the calendar of meeting times.
PLANTS: The peonies, daylilies and other assorted perennials on the south and west sides of the church are being offered to those who would like to transplant them. Feel free to relocated them as you are able. Ideally, we would like to have them moved by late September.
LUTHERAN HIGH FREMONT: On the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall is a form to order shirts in support of LuHi. Orders are due August 15th.
LuHi has sent a needs list for the start of their school year. Any help is appreciated and they also have a QR code for Venmo and Paypal.
First day of school and opening chapel is September 3rd at 10am. All are welcome to join. Refreshments and fellowship after chapel.
BONNIE UPDATE: Bonnie Wennekamp is settling in to her new residence. Correspondence can be sent to her at 1400 Mark Dr Room 205 South Haven Living Center Wahoo, NE 68066.
YOUTH ROOM: If you are parting with a leather or vinyl couch or loveseat in good condition, can you consider donating to the youth room? It is time to update/upgrade. The seating is not only used for the youth group, but Sunday school, KFC, adult Bible study and new member classes. Reach out to Heidi Widick with any questions.

BLESSINGS PANTRY: Located at the United Presbyterian Church, 940 Chestnut St, North Bend, NE and is available for anyone needing extra help with food. Current needs are listed on the following Facebook pages: United Presbyterian Church, Blessings Food Pantry, and St. Peter Lutheran Church.
Open: 1st & 3rd Monday, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Tuesdays, 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. Thursdays, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m.
NOTE: People can drop off directly at the pantry or to the North Bend Library. A big thank you to those who donate.
*Starting in January of 2025, patrons must provide both a photo ID and a current utility bill to be able to access the pantry. This new requirement is in addition to our current pantry usage policies. Patrons must be from the North Bend School district and may only select items for people in their own household. Patrons may shop once per week, may fill one provided paper bag or 2 plastic bags and must take note of the limits on items. The pantry is meant to be a stop gap, not a full grocery shopping experience. We encourage patrons to take only what they need as others depend on the pantry too.
